Holly is dedicated to helping people navigate the deep connection between the emotional, physical and spiritual self — honoring the wisdom of the body and the complexity of the psyche.
Whether we've got Issues in our Tissues or we're on spin cycle in our minds, our nervous system always knows when we are out of sync. Holly's body-centered approach helps us recalibrate our felt sense and access what words alone may not reach.
Holly's love for different cultures and global perspectives shapes everything she brings to her work. She trained in Brittany, France in reflexology and somatic therapy, and has taught in Peru, France, New York City, and the Colorado Rockies — weaving together diverse traditions into a practice that is as expansive as it is deeply personal.
Medicinal Movement is my passion. I encourage clients to move into, lie with, sit on, write about, and talk through the challenges of the body and the messiness of life.
We all have Issues in our Tissues. Conditioned or hereditary, the stories our bodies carry shape how we know ourselves. Listening to what the body has to say is an art — and for me, a lifelong study of how my emotional stories live in my physical cells.
We cannot get rid of energy, only transform it. Sometimes that means being still — meditating, writing, observing. After all, you cannot park a car at 75 miles per hour. And sometimes it means stirring up the stagnation with mindful motion.
Whether sitting with our pain or moving through our challenges, it is all a process of transforming while transitioning. I call this Medicinal Movement.
Check out Grief Speaks by Diane Zinna — a mentor of Holly's — where you'll find a small piece of Holly's own writing, written in the voice of her beloved dog, Shakti.
It's no secret that our nervous systems and heartbeats link up with our fur babies — that's somatic therapy at its finest. Our animals can teach us so much if we listen. And losing a furry best friend is destabilizing in so many ways.
Part of Holly's practice is dedicated to animal grief therapy and even translating what they're telling us while they're alive. Whether you are parting ways with a horse, pre-grieving an aging pet, or mourning a passing over the rainbow bridge, that grief is real and deserves to be spoken aloud.
